Kathmandu, October 13
Former president Ram Baran Yadav has lamented that political leaders of the country lack a farsighted vision to take the country ahead.
Speaking at a function organised by Girija Prasad Koirala Memorial Foundation in Kathmandu on Sunday, Yadav blamed the leaders for failing to introduce farsighted projects and programmes for the country’s development.
Presenting Koirala, the then Nepali Congress president who led the 2006 people’s movement, as an exemplary visionary leader, Yadav commented that the current leaders did not have that competence.
On the occasion, he said Koirala’s contribution to the peace process, establishment of republicanism and promotion of nationalism and democracy was incomparable.
Nepali Congress general secretary Shashanka Koirala had also spoken at the function.
