China doesn’t export ideologies: Chinese ambassador

Kathmandu, September 26

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi has said that China is not trying to force its ideology on Nepal.

The ambassador’s statement comes are political parties, analysts and stakeholders’ comment that China is trying to bring its president’s Xi Jinping’s doctrine known as Xi Jinping Thought to Nepal. They have feared that a recent symposium organised by the Nepal Communist Party and the Communist Party of China (CPC) is aimed at that.

The two parties also signed a sisterhood agreement.

However, ambassador Yanqi, speaking at a function organised at the China Study Centre, said that Xi Jinping Thought had already been internationalised. She added that China would also not interfere in the internal affairs of any country.

She also urged Nepalis not to take the ideological talks between the CPC and NCP wrongly. Nepali Congress and other parties had condemned the talks between the CPC and NCP.
